Is the family so necessary to be happy?
From my point of view, family is very important for people to develop social skills, because is the first "place" where a person can learn how to interact with other people and have the opportunity to express him(her)self.
On the other hand, family gives a lot of affection and care that helps to be a self-confident person, and to feel comfortable in the society.
Usually, family is the "place" or "institution" where people can feel safe and secure, and gives them somekind of identity: family is a group they can always count on, and a support to reach their goals. Is the first place that define them and accept them as they are.
From this view, I think that family is quite important for people happyness, because it allow them to feel their individuality and get a first identity from where they can built themselves and search for those things that make them feel more satisfied, and in the end, happier.
So for me, family have a crucial importance to be happy, but mostly because it gives to the person his (or her) fisrt identity, and the basic tools (besides of the support) to "search" for their own happyness; their own way to be happy. But to find happyness, is up to each one.
